ICN has produced a COP26 Classroom Resource to 'bring COP26 to school' including a teacher pack, presentations and country briefings. Please email me michila.critchley@interclimate.org

59:21
Amazing, thank you

01:01:10
Great to hear! The second half should give even more ideas to bring to the classroom!

01:05:18
Wow, can't believe that clip! It's like Fox news for the UK.

01:07:23
says we're back 5.15...but will be 5.20....

01:08:16
Hi- I am Mark Taylor ( mark.taylor@bcu.ac.uk) and I am working on exploring how primary teacher's professional subjectivities intersect with personal identities as climate change activists and identify those discursive practices which constrain or potentially afford climate activism within primary education- anyone else interested in this area do please get in touch.

01:10:39
‘Hearing from Scientists’ was one of the key themes identified by Martha Monroe and fellow researchers, as discussed at the April conference: https://uob-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/lh17711_bristol_ac_uk/EUOH4JU9GQ5BmzQovogR-3wBqs4Mj7hwzRHKZfTe7fgUUw?e=353M2C&wdLOR=c6CDDBCC9-21D7-41AB-9D93-AFCF075FA542

01:12:38
Hi all - I’m a doctoral student investigating secondary school sustainability from a social practice perspective, and I’m also working with 6th form students on a digital storytelling project exploring the climate and the future: william.finnegan@ouce.ox.ac.uk

01:19:02
Hi everyone. So sorry about my sound issues - it worked in our trial!

01:19:24
Absolutely, all links will be compile and shared on our website! www.ed-climate.net

01:20:08
Yes it'll be fine. I just need to leave at 17.55

01:21:27
Could any teachers imagine talking about dung beetles in their lesson? We're thinking about preparing resources for the classroom about Bryony's work....maybe a video....and organising an online Q and A with Bryony where students can ask her about concepts like ecodiversity and climate change....

01:21:50
As you are listening to the presentations, consider how you would bring this research into teaching. What types of activities spring to mind? We want to collect a whole range of ideas!! For all subjects, all age ranges! Post them here and we will compile them.

01:24:24
A short video would be great for sharing

01:26:53
dung beetles are a perfect paradigm! Visual, combines climate change and other factors and brings in key concepts - with a slight comic edge, which is great. Could anyone help us build a resource out of this story?

01:27:37
We're wondering if Arts subjects could also ever use this sort of material in schools as a stimulus? And whether we need to produce any different sort of stimulus/resource based on this type of research for the Arts?

01:29:22
Thank you, Rachel!!

01:30:22
Thank you Rachel and Bryony - fascinating ...

01:32:11
Thank you Rachel. A clear message coming from a training for teachers from international project (Erasmus+ International Climate Action Network project) is that local focus is of great resonance, and important to develop empathy through international.. Priority in our group discussion is how we're portraying the search for, and actual solutions. (easier said than done, I know!).

01:35:47
I can imagine vernacular approaches could be explored in D and T ! (I am an ex D & T teacher)

01:38:35
No worries. Know the scene. :)

01:39:21
Thank you! :)

01:39:30
Thanks for that beautiful presentation, Juliana!Maybe you could practice descriptive writing / poetry about the style of architecture in an English lesson?

01:40:17
Is this the birth of an ‘Adopt A Climate Scientist’ programme for schools?

01:41:57
Will it be possible to get everyone’s emails for offline follow up?

01:43:03
We hadn't thought of ‘Adopt A Climate Scientist’ programme for schools! That might be an idea. I guess we're trying to find ways of bridging the lab to the classroom. We have all these brilliant scientists - can we get that bridge going "at scale" by CCERN helping to "translate" some of this state-of-the-art research....

01:43:11
Please do keep sharing additional thoughts in the chat! They will be very useful to us moving forward with this work!

01:45:34
Yes - we can't circulate emails unfortunately (GDPR etc)....best to make contact on chat I guess - but be aware this chat is not private of course... My contact is paul.howard-jones@bris.ac.uk

01:45:59
Great thanks for sharing, Juliana. We'll add the link to the follow-up email to leave us all with some food for thought.

01:46:57
j.c.holley@bath.ac.uk (Juliana) happy to be contacted too

01:47:09
Rachel James has to run - but her email is on the UoB site.

01:47:33
Yes, researchers' details can be found here:

01:47:39
Thanks Paul. I’d love to connect offline with Ali - I see Tintin covers on her wall! Ali if you’re interested in the idea of graphic novels and comics as teaching / learning tools I’d love to discuss further. alan.hesse@gmail.com

01:47:50
Responding to James, interesting about new constraints for teaching, not to present any extreme political stances (including anti-capitalist) and how climate change education sits with that.

Jonny from Wiltshire here. Persuaded the governors and Head at my school (large state secondary) that I can run CPD on Climate Education and how given time for staff in every department to implement within the curricula. All advice or sharing on this please let me know. jonnyfriend@protonmail.com Oh, the head here has also allowed me to take students on a number of Climate Protests too...
